At Ecorriqueñas , we believe that every small action counts to create a positive impact on the planet. From the beginning, we have placed sustainability at the heart of our mission, transforming discarded glass bottles into unique candles that light up homes and hearts. But this project would not be possible without the support of our community.
Today we invite you to be part of this mission! Here we tell you how you can contribute to our recycling project and be an agent of change in your community.
What do we do at Ecorriqueñas?
Our process starts with something others see as waste: glass bottles. Each of our candles is made from bottles that we carefully collect, clean, cut, and polish. This approach not only prevents thousands of bottles from ending up in landfills, but also gives new life to a strong and versatile material.
So far, we have managed to divert more than 4,000 bottles from Puerto Rico's landfills . And we're ready to keep counting!
How can you help us?
1. Donate your glass bottles
If you have beer, wine or other glass bottles that you no longer need, don't throw them away! You can donate them to our project so we can turn them into beautiful candles.
💡 What type of bottles do we accept?
- Beer bottles (clear, green or amber; not Corona brand).
- Wine or spirits bottles (in good condition, without cracks and with a flat bottom).
- Other glass containers with interesting shapes (and flat bottoms!).

2. Buy our candles and diffusers
Every time you buy an Ecorriqueñas candle, you are directly supporting our recycling and circular economy project. It is an easy and meaningful way to contribute to the sustainable movement while enjoying a unique and purposeful product.
3. Spread the word
Do you know someone who always has empty bottles after a party? Or someone who loves sustainable initiatives? Share our project with your friends and family. The more people know about what we do, the more bottles we can recycle together.

4. Reduce, reuse, recycle
Beyond helping us recycle bottles, you can apply sustainability principles in your daily life. Some examples:

- Buy local products made from recycled materials.
- Separate and recycle household materials whenever possible.

💡 Ecorriqueñas Tip : If you have one of our candles that you have already used, you can return the empty container to us, and we will give it a new life!
